Buried Treasures

As chronicled in this frame, Sue Hendrickson made her discovery of the Tyrannosaurus Rex in 1990 in the Cheyenne River Reservation.

While hiking with a Cheyenne Indian friend in 1988 on old trail of Cheyenne River Reservation, northwest of where the T Rex would be found two years later, I noticed by trail two halves of a stone broken in half. There was no doubt when I picked it up and had examined it…IT WAS A DINOSAUR EGG! There were also small petrified egg shell fragments.

Once back from South Dakota, I had it studied and verified at CAS lab in Columbus, Ohio, as a 65 million year old dinosaur egg which had been crushed in a nest!
