In 1895, Dr. Odell attended strange case in Chicago hospital of nine year old girl with high fever, her body blistered, darkened like that of burn victim. Odell couldn’t save her! Then in 1915 four-year-old girl brought to hospital with same mysterious, thus untreatable symptoms which cost her young life. Some time later Dr Odell had made unnoticed connection between the two young victims!

Dr Odell sharing the file with older doctor on girls had same mysterious fatal condition, including photos of funerals he’d attended, when he’d suddenly realized though address different, the girls had lived ten years apart in different floor apartments of SAME DE KOVEN ST. BUILDING! The other doctor exclaimed “I know that building!? Of course, it’s O’leary site where the fire started!”

“What fire?” “You know, The Fire! GREAT CHICAGO FIRE OF 1871! “

As the Odell relative I had acquired the story and photos from told me, Dr Odell was too pragmatic to believe those girls’ fatal, mysterious burn-like conditions while living in building where The Great Chicago Fire was anything but strange coincidence! Research showed never before/after those fatal conditions appeared in the building!
